The Scream

“The Scream” created by Edvard Munchis is a confronting picture of an lonely figure standing on a bridge and clutching his ears; the eyes and mouth of the figure are widely open in a shriek of pain. Edvard Munch “The Scream” has become the brightest symbol of psychic suffering.

The “friends” of this screaming figure is clear in the background. It should be noted that the distance, indistinctness and lack of participation of these figures are somewhat close to Nora’s relationships. Since the figure happens to be distorted with nervousness, the two men are showing no sympathetic or anxiety for the screamer. The bridge is a symbol of a journey to the other world.
