On Disabled Firewalls and Computer Security

This week, I have faced two of the most stressful days of my life yet. A nasty virus named Cuebot.J slipped into my computer and set itself into my computer’s registry. What is annoying about this particular virus is that it apparently creates entries into the computer’s registry with the aim of disabling the firewall and anti-virus settings of your computer. Once the security of the system is breached, in comes the other viruses and malware lurking in the Internet for unwary victims. It did exactly that to my computer, and it was a nightmare. I spent two days cleaning the bugs out of my machine, time I could have spent working on one of my projects, hoping that the new scanners I have installed have caught them all.
