On Thursday, May 3, the United States Senate voted 63-28 in favor of an amendment that would change the current federal law to allow the importation of cheaper prescription drugs from Canada and other countries. According to the Associated Press, the amendment would hopefully drive down the ridiculously high prices currently charged by the major drug manufacturers. Sen. Byron Dorgan from N.D, said, âThe fact is, we are paying the highest prices for brand-name prescription drugs in the world and that's not fair.
